An Effective Approach to Dry Eye Relief
Meibomian Gland Expression
Dry eye is often caused by blockage of the meibomian glands in your eyelids, which produce the protective oil layer of your tears. When these glands become clogged, your tears lack sufficient oil, leading to rapid evaporation and ongoing irritation.
If blockage is present, your doctor can gently unclog (express) the glands in the office to restore proper oil flow. This quick, controlled procedure helps improve tear stability, reduce evaporation, and support healthier, more comfortable eyes.
